FORMER Vice President Leni Robredo launched on Friday, July 1, 2022, her Angat Buhay Foundation, a continuation of her initiatives during her six-year stint, especially amid the coronavirus disease pandemic.
Robredo said that through the foundation, with corporate name Angat Pinas Inc., they will continue their anti-poor programs with focus on food security, nutrition and healthcare; education; disaster relief and rehabilitation; and community engagement. “Gutom at sakit ang karaniwang kalaban ng mga nasa laylayan. Malaking problema natin ang stunting. Kapag nagkulang sa pagkain ang mga bata, maaga siyang mapapag-iwanan at habang buhay niya kakailanganin maghabol,” she said in her speech.
For education, Robredo said they will continue establishing community learning hubs, which they started amid the pandemic, to assist students in school works while face-to-face learning has yet to resume.Since in-person classes have resumed, Robredo said learning hubs will be converted to remedial centers to boost the reading and mathematical ability of the students.
