Utah 's governor has vowed to stop a hefty proposed electricity rate increase by Rocky Mountain Power , and the increase would bring Utah 's rock-bottom prices much closer to what the rest of the country pays.
A survey by the website indicated people in Utah on average spend $96 a month on electricity, the only state in the country in which the average person spends less than $100 a month.The proposed increase would happen in two steps: first, an increase of about 15% effective February 2025, and then another 15% increase in January of 2026.
