Roman Kemp, son of Martin and Shirlie Kemp, revealed that his comments about sometimes feeling like he doesn't fit in with his family left his mother, Shirlie, upset. Roman, known for his candidness, spoke to The Guardian about his preference for solitude amidst his family's musical and extroverted nature. This revelation comes after Roman's recent decision to stop taking antidepressants after over a decade, a journey he has openly shared on social media.
Roman Kemp revealed that his mum Shirlie was left "really upset" over his comments about fitting into their family. The television favourite and son of Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp and singer Shirlie Kemp opened up about family life in candid comments, admitting his reluctance to be the centre of attention.
Roman's comments come after he revealed last November that he'd stopped taking antidepressants after more than 10 years. In a post on Instagram, Roman wrote: "It's now been four months since I stopped taking anti-depressants and it's safe to say they're out of my system. Something I have taken since I was 15 years old.
"I'm neither for or against taking anti-depressants, I'm about what is right for YOU and if it helps you then go for it.
