Rome Resources continues its drilling operations at the Bisie North site in the DRC despite security concerns. New assay results are expected soon. Other mining news includes Tirupati Graphite's executive resignation, Strategic Minerals' positive Redmoor Project updates, and Rockfire Resources' discovery of a potential new resource area at its Molaoi zinc deposit.
Rome Resources , a company specializing in tin exploration in the Democratic Republic of Congo ( DRC ), issued an operational update regarding the ongoing security situation in the country's eastern region. Despite the challenges, drilling operations at the company's Bisie North site continue without interruption. Transport to and from the site is directly facilitated by BAC Helicopters.
Access by road is impossible due to the site's remote location, surrounded by dense jungle, as CEO Paul Barrett explained at Mining Indaba last week. Rome Resources has implemented robust security measures to ensure the safety of its personnel and contractors. Additionally, the company has relocated its logistical base for personnel and equipment transfers to Kisangani, the regional capital situated approximately 200 kilometers northwest of Bisie North. The company remains committed to advancing exploration activities and anticipates announcing further assay results from Bisie North within the next 10 days. These results will specifically focus on the northernmost MADD018 drill hole at Mont Agoma, where over 100 meters of visible copper was identified. In other news related to the mining sector, Tirupati Graphite announced the resignation of Murat Erden from his position as non-executive director, effective immediately, to pursue an external executive role. Strategic Minerals provided shareholders with an update on the progress at its wholly owned subsidiary, Cornwall Resources, which is currently engaged in relogging and sampling of its existing diamond drill core for the Redmoor Project, alongside other exploration and project activities. The latest set of results received by Strategic Minerals further supports the potential for upside to the existing JORC (2012) compliant Redmoor Mineral Resource Estimate published in February 2019. Results have identified new tungsten, copper, and tin mineralization both within and outside the Sheeted-Vein-System (SVS). Rockfire Resources reported that its ongoing portable pXRF soil survey has uncovered a geochemical anomaly comparable in size to the surface signature at the main resource area of its Molaoi zinc deposit in Greece. This discovery, according to Rockfire, presents a clear target to potentially double the JORC resources at Molaoi. As the pXRF survey continues, further targets are expected to be defined
