The One Show and Boyzone star Ronan Keating has revealed the heartbreaking 'reason' behind the death of his mum who passed away from breast cancer over 20 years ago
The One Show star Ronan Keating has opened up on the heartbreaking 'reason' behind the tragic death of his beloved mum. The Boyzone star, 47, shared details of his mum's breast cancer diagnosis and confessed she'd "still be alive today' if they had 'known more".
He continued: "We were a very naive family, we didn't know much about cancer and we had to educate ourselves quickly and I think if we had known more, we do believe that our mum would still be alive today."She died of the most curable form of breast cancer, but she came from a generation that found it very hard to go to the doctor and get checked when she realised she had a lump on her breast.
The pop star has suffered more than his fair share of heartache and in July last year tragically lost his older brother Ciaran. Ciaran, who was in his 50s, was sadly killed in a horror car crash when he and his wife Ann Marie had been travelling to watch their son, Ruairi, play for Cork City FC.
