Greg Norman has been a leading figure behind the controversial LIV Golf league, which has been at the centre of a bitter battle for supremacy with the PGA Tour
The 69 year old Australian, who has been at the helm of the Saudi Arabia-funded breakaway league since October 2021, prior to its inaugural season in 2022, noted the evolution from concept to reality under his leadership.
In an interview with WISH-TV, a local TV station in Indiana, USA, Norman stated: "I've seen it come from a business model on paper to giving birth on the golf course to where it is today." This departure comes as the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund continue their efforts toward negotiating a deal, following a surprising announcement of a "framework agreement" back in June 2023.
