The Holywood man managed to get the club out of the water and he finished in a tie for 15th position on three-under par heading into the weekend at Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado
Rory McIlroy was so disgusted by a tee-shot at the BMW Championship that he threw his driver into a lake in anger.
In anger, McIlroy flung his club into the water-hazard directly in front of the tee-box before his ball had even found solid ground. The World Number Two managed to make Par on 17 and 18 to card a score of 71 for his second round, which leaves him in a tie for 15th position on three-under par heading into the weekend at Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado.
