Rory McIlroy has opened up about stepping back from the heated discussions surrounding LIV Golf and PGA Tour, despite being one of its most outspoken critics.
He had previously offered insights on potential collaboration between the PGA and LIV, suggesting changes to tournament formats and locations, as well as allowing players to participate across both tours. "I felt like there was a point over the last couple of years where people were looking forward more to my press conferences than they were to my golf," he added. "I was like, that's not where I want to be."
The golfing ace also touched on the tiring nature of the media spotlight, stating it's particularly draining to be interrogated repeatedly about the same topics.
