Three bogeys in the final four holes saw Rory McIlroy lose by one shot to Bryson DeChambeau
Rory McIlroy suffered a late collapse as his quest for a fifth major ended in agony on Sunday. The Holywood golfer held a two-shot lead over Bryson DeChambeau with five holes to play, but carded three bogeys in his last four holes to miss out.
McIlroy's major mission started to unravel when he missed a par putt on 15 and then missed a short par attempt on the 16th. Ironically it was his first miss all season from inside three feet. His second shot came up short of the green but he left himself with a short par putt but it lipped out.
