Unfortunately for Barkley the match went from bad to worse as Jean-Philippe Mateta poked the hosts in front just a minute after play resumed. A sloppy Alfie Doughy backpass put Daniel Munoz through on goal and the winger rounded goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski. He then unselfishly cut the ball back to Mateta who backheeled the ball into the empty net with a confident finish.
Barkley, 30, has impressed with his performances since joining Luton from Nice in the summer and even has his sights set on a spot inUnited supremo Sir Jim Ratcliffe and sidekick Sir David Brailsford are huge fans of born-again Barkley, and have signed him once already for Nice.
