Rossendale Borough Council's new future set in stone after local election wins and losses
Rossendale Borough Council is to welcome new councillors, confirm some of its leading political and ceremonial roles, and say farewell to retiring councillors following the May 4 local elections.
The borough council will also choose the new Mayor and Deputy Mayor this week. And there is also a recommendation to make retiring Labour councillor Sean Serridge an honorary alderman. There are also positions on council working groups for tasks such as the borough’s local plan and grants, and also positions for councillors on outside bodies.
Facit & Shawforth saw Conservative Scott Smith elected. Last year, he was became of the new leading Conservative councillors following a shake-up. For Greenfield, Labour’s Neil Anthony Looker was elected.
