Leeds United picked up only their second league win of the season as goals from Joel Piroe and Georginio Rutter eased them to victory at Millwall
Gary Rowett feels the scoreline in Millwall's defeat to Leeds United was 'harsh' but admits the visitors are 'very good' on the counter-attack. The Whites picked up only their second league victory of the season with a 3-0 win at the Den on Sunday afternoon, courtesy of a brace from Joel Piroe and a late strike from Georginio Rutter.
"They're obviously going to hurt teams when there is space on the pitch because that's what they're very, very good at. If I look back to the Norwich game recently, it didn't feel like us and a fair reflection of what the team has been about for three or four years in terms of our physicality and making the early period of the game difficult.
Asked if there are many teams who will be able to deal with United's 'attacking threat', Rowett said: "Not if you're one-nil down and you're pushing and you leave space. There's obviously different moments in the game where you have to deal with it because you're in the same division. You've got to try and win games like that, particularly at home.
"The third we make a poor decision on the edge of their box, and it leaves them with the chance to transition. They're the moments in the games, that's the Championship. If you don't get those moments right, you have the opportunity to lose the game."
