Department stores and supermarkets are gearing up for the festive season
We may be in the midst of a heatwave but that doesn't stop retailers gearing up for the festive season. Royal Mail, Sainsbury's, Argos, Waitrose and John Lewis have launched their Christmas temps recruitment process.Royal Mail is recruiting all over the nation, with jobs from Edinburgh to London on offer. At the minute the jobs page is only advertising 27 roles, but on September 13 the postal service will be adding even more vacancies.

The group is also recruiting 2,700 festive roles in its supply chain through recruitment agencies. In addition to these seasonal jobs, the group said it will be hiring for 1,700 further positions across both Waitrose and John Lewis in a variety of areas over the coming months.
Elsewhere, Sainsbury's is looking for 18,000 temps. 15,000 roles have been created at Sainsbury’s, 2,000 roles at Argos and 1,000 in logistics. The new staff will help throughout Sainsbury’s and Argos stores, serving customers, keeping shelves stocked and picking, packing and delivering online orders.
