With Ruben Amorim days away from finally taking charge at Manchester United, a former playing legend has urged him to sign Viktor Gyokeres - but only if the price is right
Mark Lawrenson has suggested that Ruben Amorim should snap up striker Viktor Gyokeres for Manchester United - if a £63million deal is on the table.
As Amorim looks set to inject his tactical nous with a three-man defence, ex-Liverpool defender Lawrenson believes this could be an ideal time for United to attract fresh talent up top in the shape of Gyokeres. Especially at a figure that's well within the realm of possibility given the club's summer spend nearing £200million.READ MORE: What Van Nistelrooy said at half-time vs PAOK
"If he's available and United can get him, then they 100% should especially if they can get him for £63million, which is the price that is being quoted." However, clubs can still be hopeful of negotiating Sporting CP down from the Swede's £83m release clause. The Times reports that Gyokeres has a gentleman's agreement with his current team, meaning he would be available for the previously mentioned £63m if he decides to leave the Portuguese capital.
