A rugby league player who was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle has died. 7NEWS
The man, who was a young father, was taken to the hospital after he was injured in a tackle during a game for the Aberglasslyn Ants at Rocky Point Road in Fingal Bay.Watch the latest sport on Channel 7 or stream for free on“The NSWRL expresses its deepest sympathy to the family of the Aberglasslyn Ants player who sadly passed away on Sunday afternoon,” a spokesperson said.
The club took to social media to confirm the news, and also announce that it was retiring their No.8 jumpers for the rest of the season. “As we lay to rest our No.8 jerseys for the remainder of the season in your honour, we remember you as a friend, a brother, a father and simply one of the kindest souls in our club.
