High-profile rugby union player Kurtley Beale has denied sexually assaulting a woman in Sydney's eastern suburbs last year after he was charged over the alleged incident.
He faces four charges, including sexual intercourse without consent, inciting another to sexually touch without consent, and two counts of sexually touching another person without consent. Shortly after NSW Police revealed the charges against Beale, Rugby Australia announced his suspension from all forms of the game in a joint statement alongside the NSW Waratahs.
Beale is one of Australian rugby's highest-profile players of the past decade. He made his international debut for the Wallabies in 2009, and has since earned more than 90 Test caps.
