Runways closed at Manchester Airport due to heavy snow fall. Passengers are urged to check road and rail advice before travelling to the airport
In a tweet, the airport stated: "Health and safety will always be our top priority and operations will resume at the earliest opportunity. Passengers are advised to contact their airline for the most up to date flight information."
The airport previously issued advice on Wednesday, January 18 to passengers warning them that due to the cold weather forecast, their teams are working hard to prepare the airfield and clear any snow that falls. Passengers have also been warned to check road and rail advice before travelling to the airport.
