Britain is set to be hotter than Madrid, Marrakesh and Athens this weekend
- today it will hit 25C and Easter Sunday could even be the warmest since records began more than 175 years ago, with 26C predicted. Further record-breaking highs of up to 28C have been forecast for Monday and Tuesday, before Wednesday heralds a"breakdown of these warm conditions". Yesterday, thousands raced to the beach to make the most of the sunshine and sales of barbecues and picnic food soared.
