Russia has accused the United States of orchestrating a drone attack on the Kremlin that aimed to assassinate its President Vladimir Putin.
After initially laying blame on Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has now claimed Washington was the mastermind behind the attack.
White House National Security spokesperson John Kirby dismissed the claims as"ludicrous" and accused Mr Peskov of lying. Kyiv has also denied any involvement in the incident, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claiming the Kremlin was inventing “escalatory schemes” through the attack.
