Russia’s Federal Security Service says it has detained a suspect over the killing of a senior general in Moscow.
Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov was killed on Tuesday by a bomb hidden in a scooter outside his apartment building in Moscow, a day after Ukraine’s security service levelled criminal charges against him.According to a statement from the FSB, the suspect said he was recruited by Ukrainian security services.
Lt Gen Kirillov was the chief of the Russian military’s nuclear, biological and chemical protection forces. His assistant also died in the attack.
