Vladimir Putin has compared Russia's invasion of Ukraine to the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in World War II as Moscow shows no sign of conflict being resolved ahead of the one year mark.
February 24 marks one year since Russia unleased war on Ukraine where Putin watched from Moscow as his frontline troops continue to drop missiles and shell major Ukrainian cities and towns.
With no sign of conflict being healed, Mr Putin used the anniversary overnight to rally support across the country over its invasion of Kyiv. "We know that despite efforts of official, basically corrupt propaganda of Western elites that are unfriendly to us." The illegal invasion under the guise of a"special military operation" has seen tens of thousands of soldiers from both sides killed., telling reporters it was not realistic Ukraine will win the war.
