Russia is reportedly profiting from Houthi attacks in the Red Sea as Moscow's war in Ukraine and Israel's war on Hamas both continue to rage. The Houthis, an Iran-backed militant group based in Yemen, have been attacking the Red Sea's busy maritime shipping corridor since shortly after Israel launched its ongoing assault in Gaza following the surprise October 7 attack by Hamas.Meanwhile, Russia has been heavily sanctioned since invading Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

'The requests have picked up since the beginning of the situation in the Red Sea by around 40 percent,' DHL told The Financial Times.
