Ukraine’s fighting ‘spirit’ plays major role in war against Russia: Richard KempUkraine’s fighting ‘spirit’ plays major role in war against Russia: Richard KempFormer British commander Richard Kemp says the Ukrainian soldiers’ morale to fight plays a major part in the war, but the army needs greater military support in order to succeed. “You can have all the equipment you want, you can have all the ammunition you want, you can have all the tanks you want, but if you don’t have the fighting spirit to use them and go above and beyond, even at times when you know there is a very good chance you will die, then you are not going to do as well as the side who has that,” he told Sky News Australia. “On the one hand, we got Ukraine that does have that spirit, they are fighting for their lives, they are fighting for their men and women to their left and right. “The Russians on the other hand, they don’t really know what they are fighting for in many cases, they are just sent there.”
