Russian hackers posing as tech support staff in Microsoft Teams chats have stolen log-in credentials from dozens of global organisations.
The hackers got users to approve multi-factor authentication promptsMicrosoft researchers said the Russian-government-linked hacking group launched "highly targeted" attacks that affected about 40 global organisations.The Russian embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
"Microsoft has mitigated the actor from using the domains and continues to investigate this activity and work to remediate the impact of the attack," they added.Researchers believe the hacks may be leaked to the Russian government. The hackers targeted government, non-government organisations, IT services, technology, discrete manufacturing, and media sectors, the researchers said.
