Ruth Jones and James Corden appeared on Zoe Ball's BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show on Tuesday as they revealed they would be wrapping on the BBC sitcom later in the day
Ruth Jones, the star of Gavin and Stacey, has teased that this Christmas could see a shocking twist in the beloved BBC sitcom. Ruth and James Corden , who co-created the show, joined Zoe Ball on her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, sharing that they were about to finish filming the series.
But hold onto your Santa hats because Ruth, at 58, dropped a massive hint that there might be more heartache than just bidding farewell to the series. "It's strange, James and I have always felt, they really do exist," she mused, responding to whether it was hard to let go of the characters. The Welsh actress and comedian added, "We feel like they still exist, for us, they're carrying on living their lives in Barry, or in Billericay it's just that we are not party to what goes on in their life anymore," reports the Mirror.
While Ruth Jones and James Corden delighted in the chance to work together again, they confirmed during a Breakfast Show appearance that the end of an era is near—it's nearly time for the last curtain call. Joined by fellow stars Joanna Page, Mat Horne, Rob Brydon, Alison Steadman, Larry Lamb, and Rob Wilfort, this ensemble will grace the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show for a special takeover on Monday, December 23.
