A Rutherglen sheltered housing complex’s coffee morning raised hundreds of pounds for a cancer charity with help from a local neighbourhood watch volunteer’s charity wax. Lochbrae Court Sheltered Housing’s coffee morning and bingo night raised £640 for MacMillan Cancer Support with help from Cathkin and Springhall Neighbourhood Watch volunteer Barry Cathie, who waxed his chest at the event and raised £350 on his own.

Everyone had a great time with lots of chatting and laughter and a big raffle and great prizes.Although he fell a little short of his goal of £500 in donations, Barry was proud of what they were able to accomplish.
