The Dutchman would have played every minute for Liverpool across all competitions so far this season if he hadn’t been substituted in the 89th minute in their 2-0 over Brentford earlier in the season. Not only was he an attacking threat, he was able to break up play and recycle possession at a remarkable rate, winning three ground duels, two aerial duels, and making two interceptions.The central midfielder has been integral for Liverpool in their post-Jurgen Klopp era, helping them to the top of the Premier League table after their opening seven games.
