Welcome to Wrexham's Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney set to receive Welsh award

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are set to receive an award from the people of Wales, following their ownership and promotion of Wrexham AFC., the pair are being honoured with the Diolch y Ddraig for promoting Wales and Welsh culture internationally.

In a statement about the news, Noel Mooney, chief of the Football Association of Wales, said he was delighted the actors will be recognised for their role in promoting Welsh football. "The FAW are absolutely delighted to see Rob and Ryan recognised for their role in these special times for football in Cymru and for Cymru’s growing place on the world stage," he said."We live in exciting times with passionate organisations and people working together to build momentum behind the promotion of our culture, history and language."

The award will be presented to the pair during a Wales to the World concert set to take place on November 14 in New York. Reynolds and McElhenney purchased the club back in 2021, much to the surprise of many football fans.which follows their takeover and running of the club.
