Stevo says watching Jurgen Klopp's men stun Newcastle with ten men offered the blueprint for Hearts to beat PAOK.
Steven Naismith may have a playing past with Everton. But I hope he plus Frankie McAvoy watched Liverpool and took huge inspiration.
You just had to watch that game at St James’ Park to see it. I still feel Hearts can turn this play-off tie around, even though you have to be realistic and admit PAOK were decent at Tynecastle and are likely to be even stronger at home. “You need to do this... you need to do that... you need to cope with the atmosphere.” All true but you also just need to fight and find a way.
Newcastle were flying, popping the ball, making chances, the crowd was fervent – just as PAOK might be in Greece tomorrow night. Liverpool just had to suck it up, take a breath, do the hard yards, scrap, cover – anything that was required to stay in the battle until you get to the last 10 or 15 minutes.
Everybody has to be switched on. Zander Clark has to be at the top of his game and the boys in front of him such as Kye Rowles – who made a mistake in the first leg for the penalty concession – must be solid. The whole midfield – track every runner, cover every movement, chase, stay in the tie at just a goal behind as it sits right now.
