Ryanair has urged European governments to implement a two-drink limit on alcohol sales at airport bars, claiming it would enhance passenger and crew safety. The airline recently filed a lawsuit against a passenger for disruptive behavior that caused a flight diversion, citing the need for stricter measures against unruly passengers.

It revealed last week that it had filed civil legal proceedings against a passenger in Ireland, seeking 15,000 euros in damages related to a flight from Dublin to Lanzarote which was diverted to Porto in April last year. Ryanair argues that the passenger's behaviour was the cause of the diversion. A Ryanair spokesperson said European governments "repeatedly fail to take action when disruptive passengers threaten aircraft safety and force them to divert".
