Michael O’Leary named the city airport among a list of the most troubled transit points in the UK alongside Liverpool as he called for passengers to be limited to two drinks.
Ryanair's chief executive has branded Glasgow Airport one of the worst in the UK for flight delays caused by drugs and alcohol.
“God be with us, when we were young and innocent we used to allow them take on bottles of water – not realising it was full of vodka. Now we don’t even allow them to take bottles of water on board.” During a press conference in London, the chief executive said that fighting on board is becoming a growing problem and is the 'biggest challenge' that crews are facing. He added: “We were probably dealing with at least one bad case of assault on a weekly basis now.” Five or 10 years ago, he said, “it would have been almost zero”.
A Glasgow airport spokesperson said : “Instances of disruptive behaviour are extremely rare, however, any incident is one too many.
