People travelling with Ryanair, easyJet, Jet2, British Airways and Wizz Air have been warned
People planning to travel with Ryanair , easyJet, and other airlines have been hit with a warning as they could be hit with unexpected charges at the airport. The alert comes ahead of a hugely busy summer for international travel. Millions of people from across the UK are expected to jet off on summer holidays in the coming weeks, and with out-of-term-time holidays costing considerably more than the rest of the year, travellers will no doubt want to keep their expenses to a minimum.
However, experts at Which? have warned that 'paying extra to put hand luggage in the hold is the worst way to start a holiday'. It added: 'Measure your case before you head to the airport!' The warning states that , if your bag is too big, you could be charged £75 to put it in the hold with British Airways . With easyJet, the fee is £48, it's 30 euros for Wizz Air, and it can be between £46 and £70 with Ryanair. With Jet2 , the fee is £12 per kilo.
