Hundreds of flights to Europe have been cancelled
Hundreds of flights to Europe provided by budget airline Ryanair have been cancelled during the height of the holiday season. Those who are set to jet off to Italy this summer will need to check that their flight is still going ahead, as workers take part in an ongoing strike over contracts.
Ryanair and Vueling, which are low-cost airlines, cancelled dozens more flights due to the stoppage, which took place on Saturday, July 15, from 10am to 6pm. On the Irish carrier's website, it posted a note apologising for cancellations and other disruptions. However it said the strike is "beyond our control".
