RYANAIR passengers may soon be able to snap up bargain flights for 50 per cent less than what the budget carrier charged last summer. The airline hinted back in April that flights could be cheaper …

Ryanair told The Sun this is indeed true, with Mr O'Leary adding that price cuts are needed to encourage passengers to return to the skies.

This could mean prices falling to €37 a ticket based on the average £33 fare price listed in Ryanair's latest financial results, although of course July and August prices tend to be higher given it's the school summer holidays. Mr O'Leary told the newspaper: "So we're looking at carrying less than half last year's July passengers at half the fares we charged last July and August.

Before adding: "We will dump prices to get people moving again. Once we start flying in July, we will sell at whatever price we can to fill as many of those seats as we can."
