Rylan Clark travelled to Venice for a BBC documentary with Rob Rinder, but while they were there, he deliberately derailed a date with a story TV bosses would never dare broadcast
Rylan Clark and his close pal Robert "Judge" Rinder enjoyed a trip to picturesque Venice as part of their "Grand Tour" BBC 2 series. They took in some of the city's famous art, visited the tiny island of Murano to learn about its tradition of glass-blowing, and indulged in some of the hedonism the city has been known for.
On the Talk Art podcast, Rylan told hosts Russell Tovey and Robert Diament that it was the rudest story he could think of: "It's not repeatable on the podcast," he said, "but I told my worst-ever sexual encounter story about ten minutes into the date because I wasn't interested. This guy was a lovely bloke, but I thought 'f*** it, we'll just be mates.' Obviously it never made the series because I think the BBC would have simply panicked.
Rylan is definitely on the hunt for a new partner, sharing Rob is newly-single too. "We've both been through painful divorces recently and are ready for the next chapter," he said.
