With S Club 7 having recently announced a highly anticipated comeback tour, we take a closer look at their spin-off group S Club Juniors and ask where are the young stars now?
Over twenty years since delighting audiences as a spin-off of 90’s pop icons S Club 7, the stars of S Club Juniors have continued to impress fans in a variety of different ways.
During their tenure in the charts, the band released six top 10 UK singles, including ear-worms such as One Step Closer, Automatic High and Puppy Love/Sleigh Ride which featured in Love Actually. Close pals with Frankie Bridge even before they were accepted in the lineup, the two friends would also later go on to perform alongside each other in popular girl band The Saturdays.
No stranger to a challenge, Rochelle even turned her hand to dancing when she competed in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special back in 2013. If that wasn't enough, he also worked as a choreographer on Dancing on Ice and The Greatest Dancer, and has recently been passing his dance experience on to the next generation of stars in his role as head of MF Dance, an organisation offering street dance classes.Another star who continued to pursue a musical career long after S Club Juniors had disbanded was Daisy Shelvey, who went on to join From Above, three years after the band parted ways.
Fast forward to today, and Daisy has left behind her musical dreams to become a hugely successful makeup artist in both Newcastle and Essex. Now working under the name Jay Perry, since leaving the band, Jay has carved out a formidable career for himself on the theatre scene, with the singer touring the UK in multiple productions including Save The Last Dance For Me and Hairspray.
The most prominent singer of the group, Frankie went on to join The Saturdays with bandmate Rochelle in 2007. More recently, Frankie has also appeared as a panelist on ITV’s Loose Women and continues to prove to be a firm favourite with fans. Despite the disappointment, Stacey continued singing and in 2010 went on a 6-month tour of the UK as one of the stars of all singing all dancing stage production G*Mania.Since parting ways with the band, former Juniors member Stacey stepped back from the limelight to live a more private life, however, after seeing the success of her former bandmates Rochelle and Frankie, the star was inspired to give her career a comeback.
"Obviously, being in the band, I've had that taste of music and performing. I've had a nine-to-five job for the past five years, but it doesn't really make me happy.”
