Australia must move at “light speed” to get nuclear submarines built as China becomes “very interested” in AUKUS activities, South Australia Premier Peter Malinauskas warns.
Speaking to Sky News Australia’s Chris Kenny, Mr Malinauskas said he had"no doubt" China was interested in the country’s trilateral defence deal with the United States and the United Kingdom.
“We place our confidence in our national security agencies to ensure our national interest is protected,” he said. Nevertheless, Mr Malinauskas said he would be engaging in conversations with China and maintaining a relationship with “the country with the largest population and one of the largest economies” in the world.
