Shoppers have expressed sadness after a sandwich shop on the edge of Old Market Square closed
. Easy Bite opened on Beastmarket Hill in 2020 the shop sold freshly made baguettes, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, chicken strips and salads. At the time the property had been empty for almost two years, after ice cream shop Dolcino closed in November 2018.
"Hopefully it can be taken over soon as another food outlet, there's not much else they could put here but it seems a lot of takeaways and restaurants are closing down, I know some businesses are having a really hard time." “They can’t compete with the others online. It affects everybody, it hits everywhere no matter where you are. I never went in, It didn’t feel like it had been for that long.”
