The move marks the first time a supermarket has rolled out the money-saving initiative into smaller stores.
Sainsbury's has expanded its Aldi Price Match Campaign to convenience stores just in time for the costly Christmas shopping period.
The UK's second largest supermarket's initiative was first launched in 2021 in a bid to help offer shoppers great quality food at lower prices. It currently offers 500 own-label and branded products price-matched with Aldi in larger Sainsbury's stores. "In our Sainsbury’s Locals, we've worked hard to offer market leading prices on essential items and popular breakfast, lunch and dinner staples. We have also refreshed our Local store layouts and rebalanced space, increasing the number of products in store by seven per cent and adding more food on the move products – the primary mission of most convenience shoppers. When you’re shopping in Sainsbury’s Locals, you can be sure of excellent value, quality and choice.
