It's the first Sainsbury's store to be located at an airport, and its arrival is part of a ‘major revamp’ of shopping options available.
Passengers can pick up any last-minute travel essentials Sainsbury’s has launched a new local store inside one of the UK’s busiest airports. Passengers travelling to and from Edinburgh Airport will now be able to pick up food, drinks, and last-minute travel essentials at the new convenience store. The Sainsbury’s Local opened on December 12, replacing the previous tenant, M&S.
The retailer aims to open between 20 and 25 new convenience stores each year. Patrick Dunne, Sainsbury’s director of property, procurement & EV Ventures, said: ‘We’re very excited to launch Sainsbury’s Local in a whole new setting for the first time today with the opening of our Edinburgh Airport store.
