Frederick Road in Salford will be closed for four weeks from February 3rd to March 2nd for preparatory work on a new bridge as part of the Salford Rise development. The bridge will span 11-meters wide and 220-meters long, connecting walking and cycling routes across Frederick Road and Wynne Street. The £2.5bn Salford Crescent masterplan aims to transform the city centre with 3,000 new homes, research buildings, and businesses. Salford Rise will create an 'elevated green walkway' through the city, improving access and encouraging active travel.

A major Salford road is set to close for four weeks ahead of the construction of a landmark bridge in the city.

While this takes place, a diversion route will be set up from Lissadel Street down Cromwell Road and then along Gerald Road and Seaford Road, Salford council said. The regeneration work will create new zones in the city centre, including the Crescent Innovation area - a 29-acre site earmarked for 933 homes and 1.7m sq. ft of new commercial innovation, academic, and research floorspace.
