Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott’s relationship reportedly ‘didn’t recover’ after she admitted to being unfaithful to him while taking part in The X Factor : Celebrity in 2019. The former Love Island star confessed to having a fling with music executive Brahim Fouradi while taking part in the series.
“They never really recovered from Zara's cheating; most couples would have struggled to last for as long as they did afterwards,” they continued before explaining that Zara had some ‘big making up to do’ with the family when Sam took her back, especially with his older sister Louise. The star later took to Instagram to confess to the cheating claims, in which she branded her actions “hugely selfish and immature.” The couple had been dating for around 16 months when Sam discovered what had happened. In the same statement, she went on to apologise to Sam as she penned: “I want to apologise to my Sam for everything I have put him through, for the pain, the embarrassment, the anger and the hurt.
