Cruelty that was 'the complete opposite of Sam's values'
When 25-year-old Sam Pegram boarded Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302, on March 10, 2019, he wanted to make the world a better place.

The Ethiopian Airlines crash followed just months after another Boeing 737 Max plane, operated by Lion Air Max, crashed in Indonesia killing all 189 people on board.
At the inquest, held in Horsham, the coroner also found that a contributing factor in the victims’ deaths was that Boeing had failed to provide procedures to operate the system in a flight crew manual - and that information requested by Ethiopian Airlines’ training department was “incomplete”. “The process has taken over four years, it’s been a long and difficult journey. I hope through this process, you felt you had a voice.”
“Like so many on that flight, my son Sam was an amazing human being, who cared about others and was working for the Norwegian Refugee Council when his life was taken away in a crash that should never have happened.
