FILE - Angel Colon , the man convicted of killing 7-year-old Samantha Zaldivar , who was found dead not far from her family home in Hermitage in 1997, during his murder trial in 1998.
“He took my daughters' life," said Noel Zaldivar, Samantha's father. "He destroyed not just my life, and hers but others — many others.” Samantha's body was found on the edge of a wooded area where she once played with her friends, in a field that hadn’t been plowed in years — until a farmer went to till the land again.
