Corrie star Samia Longchambon opens up on trolling in real-life mirror of Maria storyline
Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon has been a Wetherfield favourite since first appearing on the show as then-dog kennel worker Maria Sutherland in 2000 at the age of 17.
The 39-year-old actress and mum-of-two, who turns 40 this week, added: "I think, ‘Is that what people really think of me? Is that really what I look like?’ I’ve got lots of insecurities but I don’t want to point them out. Despite the age gap between her character and her 12-year-old daughter Freya, many of the themes are relevant to teenage girls today and have made Samia - who also shares six-year-old son Yves with professional ice-skater husband Sylvain Longchambon - consider how she would protect her daughter from online harms.
