Last-gasp Rangers missed out on the signing of Samuel Edozie in the dying embers of the window as the winger stayed at Southampton.
Martin was forced into a playful apology when he was branded the bad guy over Morgan Whittaker's proposed switch to Ibrox before he joined Plymouth for keeps. The now Southampton boss, speaking in February 2023, said: "I’ve had Rangers fans message me on LinkedIn saying let him go. I apologised to them saying 'sorry I was crap at your club but it’s not my decision."
