Despite entering the contest with the league's top-ranked defense and a commendable 8-4 regular-season record, the Brahmas struggled to contain Birmingham's potent offense and maintain their defensive stronghold throughout the game. Birmingham broke the deadlock late in the second quarter when running back Ricky Person Jr. dashed for an impressive 44-yard gain, setting up quarterback Adrian Martinez's connection with wide receiver Gary Jennings for an 8-yard touchdown. A successful two-point conversion by Amari Rodgers gave the Stallions an 8-0 lead at halftime.
San Antonio's hopes were further dashed when a critical turnover early in the second half proved costly. Linebacker Kyahva Tezino forced a fumble from Jontre Kirklin, swiftly recovered by Birmingham's Kenny Robinson Jr. This turnover set up Martinez for his second rushing touchdown of the game, a decisive 1-yard sneak on fourth-and-goal, solidifying Birmingham's commanding 22-0 lead.
