The San Antonio Brahmas have placed starting quarterback Chase Garbers on the injured reserve list, leaving the team without one of the primary catalysts behind a 2-1 start for at least six weeks. Garbers played every snap for San Antonio in Sunday’s 31-24 loss to St. Louis , leading the final drive for an attempt at a tying touchdown that was stopped on downs near midfield. He finished 27-of-41 passing for 143 yards and a score, adding 10 rushing yards on three carries.
The Brahmas’ depth chart lists Boerne product Quinten Dormady as the next option in line at quarterback, with Tom Flacco serving as the emergency third quarterback Sunday. A Cal product who went undrafted in 2022 before spending parts of the past two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, Garbers emerged as San Antonio’s top choice at quarterback this season due to his ability to create extra time with his legs and complete passes from a range of arm angles in the Brahmas’ quick-hitting offense.
