Entering in place of starter Quinten Dormady, Kevin Hogan ignited the Brahmas offense late, keeping San Antonio in playoff position.

After a season-high four turnovers and a lackluster offensive game put San Antonio on the brink of a second straight loss, the Brahmas turned to backup quarterback Kevin Hogan for the first time this year. A 31-year-old NFL veteran who joined San Antonio midseason after an injury to starter Chase Garbers , Hogan stepped in early in the fourth quarter to take the reins of an offense that had been stifled for minus-2 total yards in the second half, resulting in a nine-point deficit.

When Santoso chipped in a 26-yard field goal to give San Antonio a 3-0 lead early in the second quarter, the Brahmas had 154 yards of total offense compared to just 5 for the Roughnecks. Houston’s offense started to gain a foothold the rest of the half, driving for a tying field goal during the final minute of the second quarter.
