SAN ANTONIO- We’re looking ahead at what the city could pay firefighters next year. City negotiators have already offered firefighters a 20% raise over the next
The firefighters union is negotiating a new budget to ensure firefighters earn a fair wage. City negotiators have already offered firefighters a 20% raise over the next five years. That means a pay hike would be spread out with a 4 % annual raise starting next January.
This is the first proposal to come out of the collective bargaining negotiations with the fire union for a new employment contract. The last time the San Antonio Firefighters and Paramedics voted on the contract was back in 2009.
Jones says already this year, 8 firefighters have left the department. SAPFFA says they’ll release their numbers to the city tomorrow.
